Well hello there 2016!

It's hard to believe we are into a new year already! 2015 just seemed to fly by. It was a good year for me. I found virtual racing which led to me entering more live races and by year's end I had run more than 30 last year! 
I placed in a few, set some PRs and had a lot of fun. I became an ambassador for FitFam, learned not to hold onto stress, and made lots of new friends. As good a year as 2015 was, I want to make 2016 even better!!

In the spirit of accountability, I've come up with a list of goals for 2016, and am sharing them with you today. Will I reach them all? Well, I'd like to say "yes", but honestly I don't know. What I do know is if I don't write them down and put them out there it will be way easier to back out and not work toward some of them. So, without further ado, here we go...

1. Run every day. Yes, I know I already do this, but my bigger goal is to see just how long I can take my runstreak. Today will be day 406!

2. Journal as often as possible. Journaling helped me get through one of the darkest periods of my life. I feel there's something very therapeutic about putting pen to paper so I am trying to journal more to help me reach my goals and deal with some of life's craziness this year. It's also going to be very interesting to be able to look back at the end of this year and see just how I dealt with everything and how far I've come!

3. Meal planning. With my guy and I both being cooks and foodies, I'm thinking this will be both helpful for the waistline AND the wallet, lol!

4. Weights 2x a week / yoga 2x a week / 2 races a month. I'm going to try to find more balance with my fitness this year. I'm so good at making sure I get out to run, now to get that same consistancy with lifting and yoga!

5. Quilt, knit and/or crochet 3x a week. I've got soooo many unfinished projects laying around. I NEED to get some finished up. What will I do with them, I don't know, but just having something move from the "to do" list to the "done" list will be a great thing.


6. Read 2 books. Reading is one of those things that I know I should do more of, but don't :( This year I'm hoping to change that! I'm not necessarily worried about reading Shakespeare, or New York Times best sellers, but books that interest me. That I think I'll enjoy. I already purchased one and am going to get started on it tonight.

7. Drink more water. I always put this as a goal. I'm still not so good at it, but if you don't try, you'll never get better, right? I have a green water bottle and I want to drink one full bottle a day. If I could get to the point where I drink water like I do coffee I can only imagine the health benefits I might see.
